Mit den Postdoctoral Fellowships werden individuelle Forschungsprojekte von Postdoktorand:innen (max. 8 Jahre Vollzeit-Forschungserfahrung nach Abschluss der Promotion) jeder Nationalität innerhalb und außerhalb Europas gefördert. Sie haben zum Ziel, wissenschaftliche Karrieren durch internationale und intersektorale Mobilität zu unterstützen. Gefördert werden European Postdoctoral Fellowships mit einer 12 bis 24-monatigen Laufzeit und Global Postdoctoral Fellowships mit einer 24 bis 36-monatigen Laufzeit, bestehend aus einer 12 bis 24-monatigen „outgoing phase“ und einer 12-monatigen Rückkehrphase. In begründeten Fällen kann in beiden Fellowship-Programmen ein zusätzlicher Zeitraum von bis zu sechs Monaten an einer nicht-akademischen Einrichtung mit Sitz in einem EU-Mitgliedstaat oder in einem an Horizon Europe-assoziierten Staat beantragt werden.
Für alle Geförderten gilt die Mobilitätsregel: Sie dürfen in den 36 Monaten vor der Einreichungsfrist nicht länger als 12 Monate im Land der Gasteinrichtung gelebt oder gearbeitet haben.
The Postdoctoral Fellowships support individual research projects of postdoctoral fellows (max. 8 years of full-time research experience after completion of the PhD) of any nationality within and outside Europe. They aim to support scientific careers through international and intersectoral mobility. This is to help researchers achieve or strengthen an independent research position. Funding is provided for European Postdoctoral Fellowships of 12 to 24 months duration and Global Postdoctoral Fellowships of 24 to 36 months duration, consisting of a 12 to 24-month “outgoing phase” and a mandatory 12-month return phase. In justified cases, an additional period of up to six months at a non-academic institution based in an EU Member State or in a Horizon Europe-associated country can be requested in both fellowship programs. The mobility rule applies to all grantees: they must not have lived or worked in the country of the host institution for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the submission deadline.
