Der Europäische Forschungsrat (European Research Council – ERC) fördert ambitionierte Projekte in der Grundlagenforschung aller Disziplinen. Zielgruppe der Consolidator Grants sind exzellente Wissenschaftler:innen, deren eigene unabhängige Arbeitsgruppe sich in der Konsolidierungsphase befindet und deren Promotion 7 bis 12 Jahre (in Ausnahmen länger) zurückliegt. Als Grundlage für die Bewertung dienen folgende Benchmarks: Mehrere wichtige Publikationen des/der Antragstellerin ohne ihre/n Promotionsbetreuer/in Publikationen als Erstautor/in in führenden internationalen Zeitschriften, (übersetzte) Monographien Patente, Vorträge auf internationalen Konferenzen oder (inter-) nationale Wissenschaftspreise. Für einen Zeitraum von bis zu fünf Jahren können bis zu 2 Millionen Euro beantragt werden.
Short description: The ERC Consolidator Grants (CoG) support excellent young researchers whose independent research group is in its consolidation phase. Researchers of any nationality who completed their doctorate 7 to 12 years previously may apply for a CoG This timeframe can be extended under certain conditions. Other rules apply for researchers with a degree in medicine. Consolidator Grants can be awarded for a period of up to five years and provide financing of up to 2 million euro. The ERC Grant can cover up to 100% of a project’s total eligible direct costs and an overhead contribution at a flat rate of 25% of the total eligible direct costs.
